What’s the difference between buying from a small business and a big box store?

Sadly, most big box companies look at a customer as just a number and a dollar sign. As corporations have gotten bigger, product quality and customer service have gone further down to a point, that in my book is completely unacceptable. As a small business, I see and care about you as more than just my customer. I see you as a person who, because of your support, lets me do what I love to do. And, because of the quality and care that I put into my products, I set a level of standard so high that it can never be met by a big box manufacturer.

When you purchase from a small/independent business you’re helping us pay rent, put food on the table, and above all, you’re helping us to continue to do what we love. Every single one of your dollars counts. Your support is vital to the small business community so please know that our thanks are always with you every single time you choose to shop small instead of chain stores.

Where do you actually make your products?

All of my products are handcrafted in small batches on my farm in the lovely little seaside town of Bandon, Oregon.

Why should I buy your products over a cheaper brand at my local store?

Well, besides feeling the joy of supporting a small business, purchasing from me is a guarantee that you’re receiving incredibly high quality, naturally made products. When I say that everything is handcrafted in small batches, I mean it. I grow all herbs and botanicals used in my body care products organically by hand, meaning that from seed to harvest everything is done by me. Every weed and every bug is dealt with by my hand, each plant is trimmed, watered, and nourished with “black gold” (aka my beautiful compost filled with incredibly nutrients). Combining this with high quality Pacific North West rain yields incredibly lush and potent plants. Each plant is hand harvest and hand processed before being turned into products for you and your body.

In addition, I wild harvest incredible ingredients like pine boughs from my land and kelp from my beach. Other ingredients like mango butter are procured from small, family-owned businesses here in the United States. Even the Pacific Ocean sea salt used in my soaks are hand harvested by a one man band out of Monterey Bay in California, then solar dried in salt houses all across Northern California. I support small and family-owned businesses just like you do.

Every product, every bottle poured, every balm made, every label afixed is done by my hand, unlike a corporation where your next lip balm is coming off an assembly line with more concern for meeting the numbers then your actual well being.

When you purchase from me you’re getting that hard work and love in every single bottle and tin. And while the price may be higher then your local drugstore, what you’re getting in return is worth so much more.

I want to order an item but it’s out of stock, what do I do?

All items are made by hand in small batches, one of a kind, or made to order therefor quantites are limited. When an item is restocked, an update will be sent out in the weekly postcard. In the event that you would like to pre-order an out of stock item to have it shipped to you as soon as it becomes available, please contact me.

What kind of packaging do you use?

The world is polluted enough so, in order to do my small part to not contribute to the massive Pacific Ocean garbage pile, all products are packaged in re-usable packagings such as glass bottles, aluminum tins, and compostable paper bags with eco-friendly paper labels. Furthermore, to be as zero waste as possible, orders are shipped in recyclable and upcycled cardboard boxes, upcycled mailers, and upcycled shredded paper to be as kind to the earth as possible. Please re-use, recycle and compost all packaging materials as much as you can.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit, debit, Apple Pay and PayPal are accepted and processed securely through Stripe.

How much is shipping?

$0. Nada. Zip. Zero. All orders ship FREE!

When do you ship out orders?

Shipping is done on Thursdays each week for in house produced products (unless otherwise noted). Therefore, orders placed Friday - Wednesday will ship the following Thursday. Being that I live in an area that is a good drive from the nearest town, and have to physically take orders to the post office (no pick up out in the country!), during inclement weather actual delivery to the post office may be delayed until the roads are clear and safe. In the event that your order shipment may be delayed, you will receive a shipping update email with information. If you need an order shipped out sooner, please contact me before you place your order to make sure you can be accommodated. Rush shipping is available for an additional fee.

Please note, that once an order ships, it becomes the property and responsibility of the United States Postal Service to deliver it to you. Therefore, I am not responsible for late deliveries, weather issues, delivery to the wrong address, stolen packages off your doorstep, disappearances into the abyss, acts of god, or damage incurred during shipment (unless due to my actual packing error). I do not control the weather nor the United States Postal Service. Insurance up to $50 is automatically included in USPS Priority Mail shipments. If you would like to purchase more insurance, please contact me before you place your order.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, international shipping is not available at this time.

What is your 2019 holiday order + shipping deadline?

The deadline for placing a 2019 holiday order and shipment is December 16th for in-house in stock produced products. The shop closes December 17th - January 2nd, and all orders placed within that time frame will be processed and shipped after it reopens.

I want to make an order change or cancel my order.

Once an order has been placed, items cannot be added or subtracted or canceled. If you want additional items not included in your original order, please place a new order. Orders will be condensed down into as few shipments whenever possible.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Due to the nature of my products, I cannot accept returns nor exchanges. However, if you have any problems with your order, kindly contact me, but just be nice and cool and remember that you’re talking to an actual human being with feelings and not a robot in a call center, ok? Where do you source your product ingredients/materials?

All in house created body and home care ingredients start on my farm by the sea on the southern coast of Oregon. I grow all the botanicals and herbs used in my products in my garden, or wild harvest off of my land. Organic growing practices, PNW sunshine and lots of rain yield beautiful and strong plants that are hand harvested and slow dried before becoming the potent products you find in my shop. Other ingredients, such as mango seed butter, are sourced from family-owned businesses and other small farms here in the United States. For wood-based goods, the wood used is sustainably harvested from my land and private beach.

Body and home care product ingredients and safety.

All in house created body and home care products are handcrafted in small batches using high quality botanical and herbal ingredients. Please note that it's important for you to be aware of your skin's sensitivities before using any of these products. Even though products only contain nature-made ingredients, if you are at all concerned about your skin's reaction, please proceed with caution. Those who are pregnant or nursing should consult their doctor before using any product containing essential oils. All products and information on this website is not intended to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any medical condition, and are not a substitute for the medical advice of a trained physician or herbalist.
